Diagnose the Team

Read a Team Dynamics Report. Identify the dominant friction pattern, who is bearing the highest adaptation cost, and what one question you'd bring to the leader.

Use the embedded sample Team Dynamics Report below as your data set, then work through the three diagnostic questions.

The three diagnostic questions

1. What is this team's natural center of gravity? What does that predict about how this team naturally operates at its best — and what it would struggle with?

2. Where is the largest Natural-to-Adapted shift? Which animal population grew, which shrunk? What environment would produce that shift?

3. Who is bearing the cost? Whose Natural style is furthest from the Adapted distribution?

What a strong read sounds like

  • Names the natural center of gravity in plain language.
  • Identifies direction and size of the adaptation shift.
  • Connects the shift to a hypothesis about the environment — without locking in.
  • Names who is most likely paying the cost, by archetype.
  • Closes with curiosity — "here's what I'd want to ask this team before drawing conclusions."
  • This game is the live rehearsal for Live Assessment 1.
